IYOG2022オープニングカンファレンスが2022年2月10日~11日にジュネーブの国際会議場の「人権と文明の同盟の間(Human Rights and Alliance of Civilisations Room )」で開催されます。

この開会式では,3人の日本人が招待されて講演を行います。
AGCの杉本直樹氏が「5G通信におけるガラスの役割」,住友電工の大西正志氏が「光ファイバ技術」,またガラス作家の樋口主明さんが選ばれ「自然を取り込んだガラス」というタイトルで講演されます。
樋口さんは,子供から大人まで誰もが知っている身近な自然を描いて、地球の生命の営みを垣間見せ、自然環境と人間の在り方を見つめるテーマを追求した作品をつくっておられ、ICOM(国際ガラス博物館協会)のMedici会長と理事らの総意により工芸分野で唯一選出されました。(田部記)
